Portraits Untold Year 10

Portraits Untold Year 10 Art Students

A group of year 10 students had the fantastic opportunity to see Artist Tanya Raabe-Webber creating her portrait of Neil ‘Nello’ Baldwin at the Bet365 Stadium on Monday 19th September. Neil is a well known local character and national treasure, the BAFTA award-winning BBC television drama, ‘Marvellous’ first broadcast in 2014 tells the story of his life.

The students were keen to participate in the event which explored the theme of diversity, taking the opportunity to create their own portrait of Neil. At the end of the sitting students had the opportunity to speak to Neil and get their work autographed, look out for their work on the Art and Design corridor!

The project is supported through Arts Council funding and has involvement from the National Portrait Gallery, photographs of the event alongside work created by Taya Raabe-Webber will form part of an exhibition in London.
