Performing Arts Showcase

A great afternoon had by all…

The ‘Year 9 Performing Arts Showcase’ was a great success as students performed a collection of Drama, Dance and Music pieces that they have performed throughout the year to the Year 6 students from Belgrave Primary.  Many of these were devised and choreographed by the students themselves, which is a skill that they are continuing to develop for their GCSE’s.

The performances ranged from using ensemble performances for a translation of Scrooge and also a musical item that focussed on pace; an alternative dance rendition of ‘Red Riding Hood’ that was performed earlier in the year at the Victoria Hall; a flute and violin solo and a piece of melodrama that proved to be very popular.

Students from Belgrave thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and had an opportunity to talk with the performers after the show, whilst enjoying refreshments (and swapping costumes from one of the melodrama villains!)
